A native of Minnesota, Avis has always enjoyed drawing and
working with colors. She began lessons in painting with oils
in 1960's and started painting also in watercolor after moving to
Fort Myers in 1992. She has taken classes in watercolor
painting from local art league members, and paints outdoors
on location with other members.
