Karen has enjoyed drawing and painting ever since she can remember.Colors and their relationship to each other has always fascinated her.  She likes to use color to set the mood of a painting.Karen followed this passion for art in Vassar college where she began to develop her style in the medium of oils.  She likes the richness and depth that can be achieved in this medium.  Karen's recent works in watermedia continue to show her love of color.  These pieces are vivid abstract watercolors using several layers of design and texture.

Her work has been shown from New England to Florida as well as internationally.  Recently she has had work exhibited in juried shows and won awards in the Atlanta area and Savannah, Georgia.

The Savannah Coastal Antiques & Art newspaper describe her watermedia painting as depicting "familiar scenes with whimsy, creativity and energy".
