Donna Watson

Lucky Winner:  Katherine Miller

Donna Watson is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Northwest Watercolor Society. She is also a member of the Women Painters of Washington. She has won numerous awards in national juried exhibitions as well as best of show awards. She has articles and paintings published in American Artist magazine, The Artist Magazine, Watercolor and Watercolor Magic magazines.
Donna has experience as a juror and workshop instructor at the national level and Canada. She has been juror and/or workshop instructor for the National Watercolor Society, Watercolor Society of Oregon, Florida Watercolor Society, Ottawa Mixed Media Artists, Ohio Creativity Seminar, and National Watercolor Oklahoma to name a few.

















































































 

Mark Mehaffey

Lucky Winner:  Jack Fulton

Mark is a nationally recognized artist whose work has appeared in many publications. His 1st book “Creative Watercolor Workshop” was released in 2005, and he now has two videos available. He is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the American Watercolor Society, the Transparent Watercolor Society of American (master status), Watercolor West, and the Rocky Mountain National Watermedia Society, among others. Mark has won major awards in juried exhibitions across the country, including the Beverly Green memorial Collection Purchase Award from the National Watercolor Society, the Arches Paper Company Award from the American Watercolor Society.

 

 Barbara Nechis

Lucky Winner:  Connie DonFrancisco

Barbara Nechis is an artist who has developed a style known for its masterful balance of spontaneity and control of the watercolor brush. She holds a BA in History and Fine Arts from the University of Rochester and an MS from Alfred University . She was a faculty member of Parsons School of Design for many years and has taught seminars at Pratt Institute, throughout North America, Europe, and Asia . She has served as a juror and director of the American Watercolor Society. She is the author of Watercolor From the Heart (Watson-Guptill Publications, 1993) and Watercolor the Creative Experience (North Light Books, 1979). Her work appears in many publications and collections, among them the Butler Institute of American Art, IBM, and Citicorp. She resides in Napa Valley in northern California .

Scholarship Raffle

Every two years Fort Myers Beach Art Association has a raffle for the benefit of the Scholarship Fund. The painting that the 'famous artist' completes in their demonstration for the workshop is raffled off. This year we are excited to have the artwork of Margaret Martin, Mark Mehaffey, Barbara Nechis, and Donna Watson.

Margaret Martin

Margaret Martin is an award-winning watercolorist, juror, and teacher. She is author of No More Wishy-Washy Watercolor. For Margaret, painting is about involvement, both intellectually and emotionally. It begins with love of image that radiates from
the heart. She enjoys the search and reaches for sincerity, honesty and excellence. “Making a statement” is a primary objective. Inspiration for her painting concepts comes from what she experiences and knows.  the color and vigor of flowers are stage in Martin's handsome gardens for her direct involvement and feeling. A Signature Member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society and the Midwest Watercolor Society, Martin's paintings are included in numerous public, corporate and private collections.
